You will hike through bamboo forest and volcanic terrain at altitudes of 2,500m to 4,500m in Volcanoes National Park. Treks typically last 1 to 4 hours each way depending on gorilla family location. Once found, you spend one hour observing the gorilla family at close range. Groups are limited to 8 trekkers per gorilla family. The experience is intimate, moving, and often described as life-changing. Porters are available for hire and sturdy hiking boots are essential.
