Arusha National Park Day Safari

7:30 AM. Your guide collects you from your Arusha hotel for the short 30-minute drive to Arusha National Park. The snow-dusted peak of Mt Meru towers above as you enter through the gate. Begin with a guided walking safari alongside an armed ranger — a rare privilege in Tanzania. Walk through lush montane forest alive with black-and-white colobus monkeys leaping overhead, while giraffes browse just metres away. Continue by vehicle to the Momella Lakes — shallow alkaline lakes, each a different shade of green and blue, their shores lined with flamingos. View the Ngurdoto Crater — a miniature Ngorongoro — from its rim. Enjoy a picnic lunch with Mt Meru as your backdrop, then spot buffaloes and waterbuck in the grasslands. Return to Arusha by 5:00 PM.
