3-Day Masai Mara & Diani Beach Safari | Bush & Beach

6:00 AM — Your driver-guide picks you up from your Nairobi hotel and you head west towards the Masai Mara. The drive takes roughly five hours, climbing through the fertile highlands before the landscape drops away at the Great Rift Valley escarpment — pause here for sweeping views of the valley floor stretching to the horizon far below, one of Earth's greatest geological features.

Descend through Narok town and continue across the Loita Plains into Maasai country, where herdsmen in red shukas walk alongside their cattle beneath an enormous sky. The afternoon drive takes you to new sectors. Watch for a cheetah hunt unfolding across the open grasslands — the fastest land animal exploding into a blur of spotted gold — or a pride of lions teaching their cubs to stalk through the tall grass. The golden hour transforms the Mara into a photographer's paradise, every silhouette a masterpiece.

6:30 AM — Your final morning in the Mara. The cool dawn air carries the sounds of the bush waking up — weaver birds chattering, a fish eagle's sharp cry, and the distant whoop of hyenas returning from a night patrol. One last game drive through the golden light, and you may catch a lion pride still gathered around a night kill, or a cheetah stretching and setting out on her morning hunt.

An optional hot air balloon safari lifts you silently above the savannah at sunrise, the herds spreading below like a living carpet of wildebeest and zebra, followed by a champagne bush breakfast — an experience that stays with you forever.

Return to your safari lodge, pack up, and transfer to the Mara airstrip by late morning. Fly to Wilson Airport in Nairobi, then connect to a domestic flight to Ukunda airstrip on the South Coast — total flying time roughly two hours.
