5-Day Samburu & Aberdares Safari

This remarkable 5-day safari takes you through two of Kenya's most contrasting and captivating ecosystems. In Samburu National Reserve, ochre-red earth, doum palms, and the life-giving Ewaso Ng'iro River support extraordinary concentrations of wildlife found nowhere else — the famous Samburu Special Five. In the Aberdares, ancient montane forests shrouded in mist harbour giant forest hogs, black rhinos, and colobus monkeys in a landscape of waterfalls and bamboo groves. The journey between these two worlds is itself an adventure, crossing the equator and traversing the fertile Central Highlands. Two full days in Samburu immerse you in the raw beauty of the northern frontier, with game drives along the river where elephants bathe, leopards hunt, and crocodiles bask. The transition to the Aberdares brings cool mountain air, dramatic altitude changes, and a night at an iconic tree lodge overlooking a floodlit waterhole. This multi-park itinerary is designed for travellers who want depth and diversity in their Kenya safari experience. From scorching lowlands to misty highlands, from rare desert-adapted species to forest-dwelling giants, this is northern Kenya at its most spectacular.
