7:00 AM pickup from your Nairobi hotel for the drive south on the Namanga road through Emali's dry acacia plains, Maasai herders moving cattle along the roadside. Arrive at Amboseli National Park by early afternoon, check in, and head straight out for your first game drive. 6:00 AM game drive while Kilimanjaro's summit is clearest, glaciers catching first light before the day's cloud builds. Track elephant herds through the Enkongo Narok swamp where egrets ride their backs, then climb Observation Hill for a 360-degree view over marsh, plain, and mountain. Afternoon brings gerenuk browsing on hind legs and crowned cranes performing their courtship dance, closing with elephant families filing back to the swamps in silhouette.

6:30 AM farewell game drive through Amboseli's misty plains before breakfast and a long drive north past Nairobi and up the Rift Valley escarpment on the old Naivasha road. You reach Lake Nakuru National Park by late afternoon — fenced to protect its rhino population, one of the few parks where both black and white rhino graze in the open, its alkaline lake often carrying a shifting pink fringe of lesser flamingos.

6:30 AM circuit of Nakuru's southern shore, waterbuck grazing beneath yellow-bark fever trees and pelicans lifting off the lake. After breakfast, drive southwest through the wheat fields of Narok County toward the Masai Mara. By mid-afternoon you enter the reserve — golden grassland stretching to every horizon, dotted with zebra and wildebeest — and your first game drive sets the tone for the days ahead.

6:00 AM start when the Mara's predators are most active — follow a cheetah stalking Thomson's gazelle across dew-soaked plains as the sun paints the grass amber. Your guide navigates to the Mara River, where between July and October you may witness the thunderous spectacle of a Great Migration crossing, thousands plunging into churning water while crocodiles wait below. A bush lunch under a sausage tree, then an afternoon among lion prides resting in the shade.

Today you explore the western Mara Triangle, where fewer vehicles mean more intimate encounters. Track a leopard draped over a riverine fig branch, her spotted coat dappled by filtered morning light, then visit a hyena den where cubs tumble in the dust. Afternoon light transforms the Mara into a photographer's paradise — hippos yawning in muddy pools as fish eagles call overhead and elephant families thread through tall red-oat grass.

6:30 AM game drive before you turn south for the Isebania border, where your guide manages the crossing and hands you to your Tanzanian driver-guide. The road climbs onto the Serengeti's western corridor, bush thinning into the flat golden grassland stretching to the horizon. An afternoon drive toward the Seronera Valley turns up your first Serengeti wildebeest columns and topi standing guard over the plains.

5:45 AM, and the eastern sky ignites over a horizon dotted with flat-topped acacias. Track lion prides along the Seronera River, then weave between granite kopjes rising from the plains like ancient islands, good ground for sunning rock hyrax and an occasional resting leopard. A bush lunch beneath a whistling thorn, then an afternoon drive through corridors thick with migrating wildebeest, zebra columns stretching to the horizon.

6:30 AM farewell game drive across the short-grass plains before you climb east into the Ngorongoro highlands, Maasai bomas scattered across the green slopes. By early afternoon you reach the crater rim and descend 600 metres by 4x4 into the caldera floor. Black rhino graze in the open, lion prides doze near the Lerai fever-tree forest, and thousands of lesser flamingos crowd Lake Magadi's shallows. 7:00 AM breakfast at the rim, then a drive south through Karatu's coffee farms and Mto wa Mbu before entering Tarangire National Park by early afternoon. Swollen baobab trees, some over a thousand years old, punctuate the golden grassland, and your game drive follows the Tarangire River, where elephant herds hundreds strong gather to drink and dust-bathe in the late light.

7:00 AM final game drive through Tarangire's baobab woodland, hornbills clattering overhead, before breakfast at the lodge. The drive north to Arusha takes roughly two hours through farmland and Maasai settlements. On arrival you're transferred to your hotel or on to Kilimanjaro International Airport, carrying eleven days of memories from six parks and two countries.
