The drive is short but dramatic — within 30 minutes the white-sand coastline gives way to the emerald-green ridges of Shimba Hills rising from the coastal plain. Enter through the main gate by 7:45 AM and immediately feel the temperature drop as the canopy closes overhead.

8:00 AM — Begin your game drive through Kenya's only coastal rainforest reserve. The morning light filters through giant fig trees and mvule hardwoods.
